Alexis is a BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition & Nutritional Therapy) and CNHC (Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council) registered Nutritional Therapist, and graduate of London’s renowned Institute for Optimum Nutrition. She is passionate about good food and a balanced lifestyle, and coaches people to make manageable changes to achieve optimum health.

Alexis follows the Functional Medicine approach, using tools to assess how diet, lifestyle and other environmental factors can impact on health. She seeks to identify underlying causes of symptoms, looking at the person as a whole, and recognising that each person is unique. As well as taking a thorough health and medical history and getting to know each client’s personal challenges, she uses tools such as non-invasive functional laboratory testing, where appropriate, to establish where imbalances lie. These include:

  • stool testing
  • food intolerance testing
  • hormone panels including comprehensive thyroid
  • adrenal and sex hormone panels
  • and genetic testing to name a few.

A typical plan would include diet and lifestyle changes, with nutritional supplements and testing where appropriate.

Alexis is also a coach for the well-known Metabolic Balance ® Weight Loss Programme.  This is a highly successful plan for life, which has been made famous by James Corden, Boy George and singer Sam Smith.

It is a personalised programme, based on a comprehensive blood test. It addresses the hormone imbalances that lead to weight gain (or loss). It is solely based on food, taking meal timing, frequency, and nutrient balance into consideration, with no supplements or ‘diet’ foods. It is a way of eating for life, although the initial programme is 12 weeks. It includes a unique food plan tailored to each individual and includes coaching from Alexis at regular stages throughout. Each plan is based on the individual’s blood test results, starting weight, body mass measurements and goals.
